How to Make a French Knot in Embroidery

Step 1.
Send your needle up from the back along one edge of the dot. Hold the thread in one hand and your needle in the other with the needle close to your work.
|
Step 2.
Wind the thread around the needle one time. |
|
|
Step 3.
While holding the thread so it remains tight around the needle, send the needle back down on the opposite edge of the dot.
|
Step 4.
Continue holding the thread tight against the needle until the needle goes through the fabric.
|
|
|
Step 5.
Pull the rest of the thread down through the fabric until you have a small knot. (Do not pull hard once you have a knot.)
